Strong Customer Authentication Readiness: Germany In-Focus
Due to concerns surrounding industry readiness and transaction failure, some national regulators communicated a phased ramp-up delay to the 31st December 2020 enforcement deadline.
While the ramp-up delay has provided the industry with more time to prepare for enforcement and has prevented a cliff-edge fall in approved transactions, a number of alarming issues have been identified by merchants requiring SCA on transactions, thus far in January. This has lead to German merchants experiencing some of the highest transaction failure rates in Europe. This short report (7 pages) provides some insight into some of these issues as well as the evolution of 3DS testing data in Germany.
