Advocating the interests of merchants is at the heart of everything we do.
Our economics and advocacy department plays a key role in CMSPI’s extensive work within the payments industry. While a large part of the work we do is partnering directly with merchants, we also work independently within the wider payments market to advocate for fairer regulation and encourage a healthy payments landscape.
Our dedicated economics team supports merchants and other merchant advocates by providing expert knowledge in a wide range of environments, including: litigation support; economic analysis and commentary; business case guidance; and in-depth industry reports.
Since our founding over 27 years ago, we’ve worked hard to campaign on behalf of merchants to battle against unfair fees, and to rally support for positive changes for merchants throughout the payments landscape. We’ve spear-headed multiple campaigns across the globe, and most recently have formed the International Payments Regulation Forum. Advocating the interests of merchants is at the heart of what we do – whether that’s working alongside individual merchants to help them achieve better payments arrangements, actively campaigning on behalf of the wider merchant community, or providing industry-leading insight and analysis in the form of publications or events.
