April Interchange Fee Changes – Impact Analysis (CMSPI Insights Report)
In early 2020, it was announced that both Visa and Mastercard would be making significant changes to the structure of their interchange fees for the first time in a decade. The new rates were originally scheduled to enter into force from either April or October 2020, but most changes were pushed back to April 2021 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
