There have been an estimated $2.3 billion in card fee increases since 2019 – and this doesn’t include the impact of shifting volume and tender mix. The most recent changes in 2023 plus the upcoming amendments slated for April 2024 could add another $750 million to merchants’ budgets annually. These fee adjustments are complex, and various other highly complicated forces are also at play, including the evolution of network badging on BINs, shifting issuance patterns, network rule changes, PINless enablement, and more. All of these factors contribute to ongoing inflation of card fees and shrinking merchant control of costs.

Join our upcoming town hall where our experts will delve into the details of the most recent and upcoming changes, discussing their potential impact on your business. They will also address the increasing complexity of card payments and why it results in heightened costs.
